The Marginals Celebrate

Our book club, Notes in Margins, celebrated its 10th birthday recently at my  house for our annual Sunday brunch. I put out (almost) all of the books we have read in the past ten years wrapped in ribbon by year. (Then I gave most of them away since I am running out of shelf space.) Kept a few favorites:;  Our Guys, Ella Minnow Pea, Straight Man are some keepers.

When in Rome...

I learned a great new printmaking technique in Helen Shafer Garcia's class at CREATE today. Staying at my friends' Oceanside condo for this retreat, I have shells on the mind.

Teased with spring

A beautiful, gorgeous springlike day. I basked in sunlight on the deck, took a walk in the perfect



temperature and bluest sky. Tomorrow it rains again and we wait for the next sunny day. The coldest April on the record here. It's official.

The day ended even more jubilantly. Osama Bin Laden got his due today.
