January 1, 2010

It's just after midnight in the New Year. Bob has gone to bed, but I'm still enjoying a glass of champagne and watching Sex and the City movie again. I enrolled in D J Pettit's online Photoshop class - what beautiful work she does. She begins on Jan. 4 when registration closes. Am also enrolled in Mary Ann Moss's Remains of the Day, I'm designing an ed tech course at City University for end of January, and school starts again Monday, so I've got a lot going (watercolor classes with Molly Hashimoto also begin again next week). I can see my head is in art right now. Good thing the online classes are on my own schedule - I can certainly see the advantage to that format.

I received notice today that I got in all the workshops I requested for August Art Unraveled in Phoenix. Friends live there, so it's a great opportunity to visit with them (and save on hotel :), too. It's the only retreat that doesn't conflict with school calendars as Artfest and Art-and-Soul do. I've been to them several times, but have to take personal days to attend.

On her blog, Randi Feuerhelm-Watts shared the Women Are Heroes photo project - women's faces painted on the roofs of Kiberia of all places. What a world.

Here's to a great New Year, memorable in every positive way.
